The Proper Way To Layer Hair Products

Do you follow a strict skincare regimen?

if you do, you'll know that it's called strict for a reason. You have to do the regimen meaningful step by meaningful step, each step bringing you closer to that beautiful skin that you've always been dreaming of (or possibly, maintaining – hey, dreams do come true, after all!) This means that you can't use your moisturizer without using your facial cleanser first, and you definitely can't put serum on without using the thinner essence first.

1. Hair Shampoo and Conditioner

The first hair product that you need is, of course, your shampoo and conditioner. Shampoo, first and foremost, cleans hair thoroughly, making sure that no dirt remains on your strands. Dirty hair can cause sebum build-up on your scalp that could hinder healthy hair growth.

For best results, You can also replace conditioner with a deep conditioner at least once a week.

2. Leave-in Conditioner

Leave-in conditioners are generally used for extra moisture, which means that those with dry, frizzy, and brittle hair will benefit more from using them.

Other reasons why you may want to use a leave-in conditioner includes damaged hair and color-treated hair, as both are quite fragile and may require some extra TLC.

This doesn't mean that you have to use leave-in conditioners daily though – you can stick to using this product just every time you wash your hair, which is ideally just a couple of times per week.

3. Heat Protectant

Now, this is one very important hair product, especially if you're someone who loves her heat styling tools! Even though they're completely safe to use, the heat from these tools does damage your hair a little bit every time you use them, which can cause eventual breakage.

Always use a heat protectant before using your favorite curling wand or straightening iron to mitigate any possible damages your strands may sustain.

4. Hair Serums

Hair serums are an absolute must for those who are suffering from frizzy hair. They can help polish your hair and give it a shinier and sleeker look.

Remember though, a little goes a long way when it comes to hair serums. Be sure not to slather too many on your hand or you'll be left with a lot of wasted product.

5. Hair Spray

Last on the list is hair spray. We can't say that they're necessary for your daily hair routine, but if you have a long day ahead of you, you might want to spritz a few sprays to keep the frizz down.

Just practice layering your hair products until it becomes second nature to you and before you know it, you're on the way to becoming a pro!
