How To Rejuvenate Bleached Hair

Anyone who has ever tried bleaching their tresses in the past will know the problems that plague bleached hair. Extreme dryness. Very prone to breakage. Multiple split-ends. The issues are so common and persistent that it almost feels like getting blonde hair for a few weeks isn’t really worth all the trouble.

Fret not – ZALA is here to the rescue! For today’s post, we’re sharing with you our guide on how to rejuvenate bleached hair, no matter how hopeless it may seem!

1. Treat yourself to deep conditioning hair masks

When your hair is bleached, you’re dealing with a lot of extremely dry and frizzy hair. And the best way to combat dry hair? Tons and tons of moisture.

Make sure that your hair gets all the moisture it needs with deep conditioning hair masks made specifically for bleached hair. You can even make your own hair masks using natural ingredients if you want. Here are some of our favorites!

Argan Oil Hair Mask

  • 1 tbsp Argan Oil
  • 1 tbsp virgin Olive Oil
  • 3 tsp organic Honey

The Argan Oil and Olive Oil will work together to moisturize your hair while the honey will serve as an emollient. Emollients seal moisture into your hair and ensure that your hair will stay moisturized for a long time. Just apply this mask evenly through your strands and leave on for at least 20 minutes. Wash as normal afterward.

Egg Hair Mask

  • 2 tbsp egg yolk
  • 3 tbsp Aloe Vera
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil

We’ve already established how Olive Oil can help moisturize your hair. Did you know that egg yolks have moisturizing properties as well? Eggs have protein and biotin, which can instantly lift our hair and provide it with much-needed nourishment. Leave this mask on for about 30 minutes and you’re good to go. The perfect way to rejuvenate bleached hair, indeed!

2. Use a conditioner as often as you can

Since your hair lacks moisture, it’s only natural that you’ll do your best to retain that moisture for as long as possible. Washing your hair with water strips off moisture from your hair so apart from your hair masks, you should also try to condition your hair as often as you can after shampooing.

Do take note that conditioning your hair too much without shampooing can lead to greasy hair. Remember, the only reason you’re conditioning your hair is that you want to keep its moisturized state even after cleaning your hair with shampoo. If you’re not going to shampoo your hair, it’s probably best to stay away from conditioners too.

3. Get a professional hair treatment

Getting a professional hair treatment at a trusted salon is certainly not cheap, but it’s definitely more expensive to deal with damaged hair if you let it become worse.

Salons know what’s best for your hair, and what’s best for your hair right now is usually a keratin treatment. Our hair strands are naturally made of keratin, so a keratin treatment aims to add keratin back to your locks to get it back to its gorgeous state.

4.  Give your hair a fresh start

Sometimes it’s much better to start over from the top than to repair what’s already broken. Why not get a spanking new haircut?

Not only will getting a haircut help to reduce damages caused by split-ends and weakened strands, but it will also help in giving you a fresh new look. Just because you’re battling the bad effects of bleaching doesn’t mean you have to look miserable while you’re at it, after all!
