Siren Makeup and Hair Tutorial

This tutorial is based on the siren makeup and hair tutorial by @thecapricornn on TikTok.

1. Mermaid Locks

When we think of mermaids, we immediately imagine glistening scales as legs, seashells as bra cups, and long, dangling hair bedazzled with ocean pearls and other underwater treasures. But what if you don’t have long hair like those fairytale mermaids?

No need to worry! To make your dreams come true, all you need to do is to simply purchase a set of hair extensions. Here at Zala, we offer you a wide range of lengths and colors that you can choose from. If you want to achieve the enchanting hair of sirens as featured in this tutorial, we recommend that you get the 30" Zala Hair Beach Blonde Clip-in Hair Extensions.

2. Shampoo the strands

We told you to ditch the typical black and orange theme of Halloween. We also told you to ditch the classic witch costume. What character do we have in store for you? A tuned-up version of our sweet Princess Ariel. Grab your Zala hair extensions and let’s start!

After picking your new hair extensions, the second step is to take the color to the next level. Don’t worry, your new Zala Hair extensions are made of 100% human Remy hair so it’s completely safe to dye and tone them just like your own natural hair!

Before applying the color, make sure to shampoo your hair extensions first. You can applyZala Hair’s Froth on You Shampoo for Hair Extensions to make sure that the strands are free of grime and build-up. It’s also free of parabens and sulfates!

3. Switch the color up

To get the full siren look, you have todye your hair as well. After shampooing your hair extensions, simply take one of the wefts and start applying the color evenly to it with a color brush. The reason why we’re telling you to try one of the wefts first is to make sure that you’re satisfied with the color and application before you change the entire hair extensions set.

For this look, you will be turning your hair into a deep, rich purple. Make sure to begin at the roots and work it all the way down to the ends. You can also switch things up by coloring your hair extensions with a purple ombre swatch.

Once the hair extensions have dried after coloring, you can apply Zala Hair’s Revive Me Hair Extension Treatment to bring back the shine and moisture to the strands.

4. Clip-in your locks

Now that you’ve chosen, shampooed, and colored your hair extensions, all you have to do now is clip them in. To have a seamless application, start by creating sections in your hair first. Sectioning will allow you to gauge the placement and number of wefts that you should put in your hair. You can effortlessly do your sectioning with the Zala Hair Sectioning Clips. Definitely a one, two, three, clip situation!

5. Time to accessorize! Pearly shells or spooky spikes?

Tales as old as time have told us about mermaids with pearls in their hair and colorful scales on their tails. But are you willing to switch up the pearls for spikes and the scales for a little black dress?

You can turn from the sweet princess Ariel to a punky modern siren by applying metallic accessories to your hair. This will create a great contrast between your rich purple hair; making the accessories shine as they should. We recommend anything with spikes or even a simple metallic pearl in contrast to the luminescent pearl we’re all familiar with.

Bonus tip: to make your accessories pop off, you should make your hair more volumized, too. You can do this by applying Zala Hair’s Mad Matter Hair Extension Volumizing Powder. All you have to do is puff a small amount on to your hair and then style it any way you want.

6. The new face of the ocean

A look will never be complete without make-up. To finish up your Halloween get-up, grab your favorite foundation, purple eyeshadow, an eyeliner, and some plumping lipstick.

The eyes, Chico. They never lie. And that’s why we should start with that smize. To create a dramatic look, apply a deep purple shade over your lids. You can also put a little below your eyes to amp up your look.

Next, do the base make-up with your foundation, concealer, setting powder, and then top it all off with an extra bright dash of highlighter. The more highlighter, the better for this Halloween look.

Let’s go back to your eyes and finish your smize with an ultra-black eyeliner, making sure to add wings for extra oomph. Next, apply a thick pair of false eyelashes and you’re SPOOKTACULAR look is done!
